Best summer in years
09-11-2011 Comments (2)This summer has been the best since 2008, with almost 1.5 million tourists visiting the Costa del Sol between July and September, according to figures just published by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
A spokesman said this confirmed the slow but steady recovery of tourism on the Costa. He said the figure was not much lower than the 1.7 million visitors in 2008, when the economic crisis began to make itself felt.
However, the two main complaints continue to be that visitors are coming for shorter stays and spending less money.
