Sabrina Wageman from Cappucino:Business is better than ever04-05-2011
The leading unisex Hair & Beauty salon Cappucino in the heart of Puerto Banus, at the Cristamar centre celebrated its 10th birthday in April. The owner Sabrina Wageman comes from Belgium, but has been living in Spain already for 15 years. This energetic and amiable woman runs this beauty salon and enjoys the colorful life of Marbella. Sabrina herself also finds time to work as a hairdresser there and many people drive long distances just to get a cut from Sabrina. Among the salon's clients and fans of Sabrina's work there are quite a few prominent people. They can be seen also on the wall of her salon. Sabrina told i- Marbella what does it takes to stay in this business for 10 years!
1. How has your business been during the last 10 years?
The business is just getting bigger and better each year and the clients come back every summer and they are very happy to be here again. I must say that after 10 years I feel that NOW I am ready for real business. We started out small, but now we have grown in both size and range of exclusive products and services available. For example we now have the only UWE 90 sunbed in Spain - this leads the field in skin safety and even relaxes you with built in aromatherapy. Or for a quicker result you can try the 100% organic spray tan, that we also offer. Cappucino has not forgotten the boys either! With a range of quick and effective men's grooming services - from cutting, colouring to hair removal.
2. Why did you change your logo?
We changed it to be more updated, showing people that we don't sleep, but just keep going with fresh and new look. We have Hair, Beauty and Glamour and Cappucino and Make UP all together. We also have postcards in our salon for just a memory or you can also send it to your friends, family etc.
3. What are your strongest features in this business?
I would have to say the fact we speak different languages. At Cappucino, we have cosmopolitan people coming in every day from all over the world. It is very important to communicate with each end every person, in their language. Also I am at the salon all the time, talking to my clients, smiling, making them happy and I think people like my energy. Especially I love seeing when people are happy with the results and services they get from Cappucino.
4. What makes a business successful here in Marbella?
I think being fashionable, doing good PR, always keep on moving and building up something for a long term. Because success takes time, you can't get rich in just 2 months like many people here try. The fail, because it doesn't work like this, you really need to live here and work on your business to grow.
5. What you think about the situation in Marbella now?
Marbella is going through a cleaning time - new people, new attitude! Everything is changing! Also I think Marbella is not that expensive anymore, because if you go to Zurich or Rome, they are all much more expensive. This can be both positive and negative, but generally I think everything will be in good in about 2 year s . I believe that the best times are still to come!
