Bijan introduces another innovation for reducing Electricity Bills and Co229-10-2012

1. You have successfully finished a new scientific project. Can you tell us more about it?
We all know energy prices are rising at an alarming rate, specially electricity, therefore it is now more important than ever to reduce energy costs by improving the overall efficiency using every proven method and technology available today such as power factor correction and voltage optimization to lower your electricity bills. By employing these techniques the wasted electricity is reduced and savings of up to 20% can be achieved. Not only you will be saving money for long years but also doing your bit for the environment and future generations by reducing Carbon emissions.
2. How did you come up with this idea? And how long did it take you to achieve your goal?
In line with EU directives to save energy and lower Co2 emissions, I employed a technique that is 40 years old and after nearly 11 months of intense development and testing came up with a completely new and advanced design (parts patent pending) using the latest technology. In addition I tried to produce a system that is inexpensive and affordable for commercial and domestic applications especially at these difficult times of economic crises for most people and firms.
3. Recently you flew to Dubai to present the new systems, what is your next move?
There is huge waste of energy everywhere specially in warm places like Dubai mainly due to constant use of air conditioning and other inductive based appliances. Although there are other expensive systems available (and some completely useless and unsafe gadgets from Asia!) due to our unique design and low prices, demands for our commercial/industrial and domestic range of energy saving systems is rising internationally and we should grab this opportunity both commercially and environmentally. From next month Spain introduces penalty charges for Reactive Power (wasted electricity) on electricity bills similar to other European countries. 4. How does the system work?
There are two methods accepted universally as one of the first steps recommended to reduce electricity costs and improve energy efficiency:
The first method is correcting the power factor. This method is recommended for commercial and industrial applications such as factories, offices, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, supermarkets, water treatment, cold chambers just to name but a few. It works by correcting an inefficient electrical load using microprocessor controlled monitoring and specially designed capacitors that regulates and counteracts the effects of an inductive load (wasted energy reactive power) which is produced by all motors, pumps, air conditioning, refrigeration and all machinery that use motors and transformers in their operation.
The second method is voltage optimisation. This technique is recommended for residential and domestic applications as well as commercial. It regulates the power and ensures the correct pure sinusoidal voltage is applied at all times which both saves energy and prolongs the lifespan of electrical appliances and lighting. Both techniques are complementary and can be used in conjunction to reduce costs and save energy up to 20% and proportionally reduce Co2 emissions.
5. What inspires you when you're working on big projects?
I always had this thirst for innovation and invention. Creating something useful, different or new is truly rewarding to me. I enjoy the process despite all the difficulties and risks involved in new projects and business ventures.
6. What is your next scientific project?
I am working on a medical project in the phase of research & development for reducing migraine electronically without using medicine. Migraine is an excruciating pain for patients suffering from this chronic and debilitating illness that so far has no treatment.
7. We know about your passion for making movies. Are you working on a film project at present?
But of course! Filmmaking is my biggest passion in life and a professional “hobby”. At present I have a new arty film project as a co-production with several other filmmakers from Europe and Asia.
8. How do you find the time to do so many different things?
The only element that we really posses in life is “Time” which runs out so fast; therefore I always felt this sense of urgency to create and innovate and will keep doing so as long as my mind and body function!
9. How do you spend your free time?
Frankly speaking I feel “free” even when I am working! Writing, reading, classical music, walking, flying, even cooking are my favorite free time diversions.
10. What are your plans for the autumn? Do you plan to travel anywhere?
Right now I have several big and small trips to a number of countries for the energy saving project. After that I hope December will be more relaxing here in my favorite city of Marbella.
