An incredible event of Cesare Scariolo Foundation for a noble cause was hosted by Finca Besaya this March
From the Cesare Scariolo Foundation, we would like to thank Finca Besaya and its director, Lorena Sastre, for Emma de la Flor, as well as all the sponsors, collaborators and assistants who participated in the Charity Dinner that took place on 16 March at Finca Besaya.
We are very proud of the result since we have raised more than 15,000 euros, money with which we will be able to carry out our projects that are the remodelling of the consultations of Hematology of the maternal and child hospital of Malaga and the elaboration of a publication on Pablo Raez.
About Cesare Scariolo Foundation
FUNDACIÓN CESARE SCARIOLO is a private, non-profit organization whose main objective is to provide direct assistance to children who are receiving cancer treatments, as well as social and psychological support for their families.
Born by the impulse of its president, basketball coach Sergio Scariolo, and mainly develops its activity in the province of Malaga, although with a view to continue growing in the rest of the national territory.
For many years, following the last months of my father's illness, I came into contact with cancer and leukemia; I could see that many children and young people, more than we think, are affected by these diseases and need support in these hard times.
After the death of my father, I had the concern of being able to focus the aid effort towards the less fortunate in a single direction, because so far whenever they had requested my support for different causes had had.
A few years later, specifically in 2008, I was encouraged to take the step together with some friends and collaborators to create an association that has solid basic principles and with which the foundation can be kept consistent over the years. These are mainly:
To help children with cancer diseases and their families in all ways in which, given the size of our structure, we can reach. Attending from the social, economic, playful, psychological, etc.
Do this in a transparent way, with an extremely severe regularity in the accounts.
To have a minimum structure, being able to count on a group not numerous but very active and passionate of volunteers and volunteers that help us in the different events and activities and that allows to allocate to the social work of the foundation 95% of the income.
Maintain our local vocation, helping families who are cared for in hospitals in Malaga, always with the utmost respect for the foundations and associations that focus their assistance in caring for people who live far from here.
With these principles we have moved from our beginnings, without ever betraying them, and I am very grateful to all the individuals, volunteers, companies and institutions that have helped us and continue to help us.
I hope that we can consolidate more and more the work of the foundation and that it can be maintained: a small foundation, with an impeccable reputation, very active in the province of Malaga in helping children with cancer diseases and their families .
