Lars Osen (38) is a successful Norwegian businessman, who despite the economic depression is doing well in business. i-Marbella found out more about his work, his family and what he thinks of Marbella.

Lars and work

Lars' money comes from stock market arbitrage, which means to take advantage of a price difference between two different stock markets, to strike a combination of match .com/CODE/libs/DomFg/Templates/Vista/Input/tiny_mce/themes/advanced/langs/en.js" type="text/javascript"> ing deals that capitalize upon the imbalance and to profit from the difference between the market prices. “This is the same business that big banks do, but we do it for our customers and at the same time, when banks play with your money and keep the real profits, with earn big profits to our customers,” explains Lars the substance of arbitrage business.

Lars and money

Lars´company, Centennial Nordic Capital, is also known in Marbella, as he has sponsored local events and has clients here. “I have some friends and clients here and I like to bring my other clients on holiday trips to Marbella,” explains Lars, why he visits Marbella quite often. “But telling you the truth, there is no money in Marbella. All the people only talk about it, but they don’t have much real money. But for me it's important to leave my footprint here.”  Lars only plays with big numbers. “Our minimum inputs from clients start with one million euros.”

Although Lars deals with big numbers daily, it is not money that he values most in his life. He also doesn't agree with the saying "lend your money and lose your friend". "This is a stupid thing to say. I always help my friends and they help me back," says Lars about lending money to friends.

Lars and Marbella

The Norwegian businessman admits that he loves Marbella. When he comes here, he always stays at the Marbella Club. “This is the best hotel here, I love this place.” Lars likes Marbella because it gets his mind off the business. He also says that because Marbella is pretty small, he can't stay here for too long. 

Lars and his girls

Lars lives in Norway, Stavanger, with his four little princesses, 9-year-old twins Dina and Pia, 6-year-old Dorthea, 3-months-old Othelia and with his beautiful wife Mona. Although she takes care of their four children and the household, she keeps also working at the same time as a graphic designer. „She is very good at what she does and I'm very proud of her,“ talks Lars about his wife with deep respect and love. „My wife and my family are most important to me. If I lose my wife, i lose my life.“ They have been together for more than 20 years. To our question, what is the secret of their long-term relationship, answers Lars with a smile on his face: „You have to be good in bed.“

While travelling, he misses his girls the most. “I want the future of my girls to be insured," says Lars about the fact why he is working so much. „My little 6-year-old Dorthea was singing last week at a concert and I missed it.“ Lars is travelling about 10 days every month. „This is not too much, because my dad, who was a sailor, tr avelled much more.“ Lars always brings some little gifts to his family from his trips. His last gift to her wife was a wallet and t-shirt from a Swedish label called Tiger. „This brand is one of her favourite labels,“ explains Lars his choice. „But my wife doesn't really need anything - she says that she has everything already.“

Lars and his dreams

One of Lars' dreams is to own and run a restaurant."I would really love to open a restaurant of our own,"his face lights up talking about it."And actually I would like to go live in California with my family in the near future, if only my wife wasn't against it so much."
